Basic Reaction Role Setup
This guide will teach you how to get simple reaction roles working.
Step 1 - Setting a Channel
You'll need to tell Zira what channel you want to use for the message in the next step.
You can do this using z/channel #channel
like so:
tip
See the Channel page for more details on the command.
Step 2 - Setting a Message
Now it's time to tell Zira what message you want to use.
You have a couple options:
- Use a message that you've sent
- Get Zira to create a message
- Get Zira to create an embed
Option 1 - User-created message
If you want to use a message that you have created, you can do so by using z/message messageID
. You can only set a message if it is in the channel you set in step 1.
tip
See the Discord help page Where can I find my User/Server/Message ID? for instructions on how to find a message ID.
Here is the message we are going to use
Now time to set the message
tip
See the Message page for more details on the command.
Option 2 - Zira-created plain message
You can have Zira send a message to use by using z/message Your message here.
The message will be sent to the channel you set in step 1
tip
See the Message page for more details on the command.
Option 3 - Zira-created embedded message
You can have Zira create an embed by using z/embed
and following the instructions.
The embed will be sent to the channel you set in step 1
tip
See the Embed page for more details on the command.
Step 3 - Adding reaction roles
Now you can add some reaction roles to the message you set in step 2!
You have a couple reaction role options:
They all behave differently, so to find out which one you want, go to their appropriate pages.
Here we are going to use a toggled role, but the command syntax is the same for the other types.
You can add a reaction role a few ways:
- Mention
- Name
Setup Finished
That's it! You have set up Zira for your server.
You can add more roles to the message we created in this guide if you want, or you can create more messages and add roles onto those!
